Turks and Caicos Islands, February 10th,2014 (DDME) - Director of Disaster Dr. Virginia Clerveaux, Management and Emergencies and Hazard Mitigation Officer, Ms. Rikardia Pardo left the Turks and Caicos Islands on 9th February 2014 to attend an Emergency Management Accreditation Programme (EMAP) Assessor Training Course, which is being held at the BritishConsulate-General Miami Office beginning today Monday 10th – 12th February, 2014. An Overseas Territories Disaster Managers Work Group meeting is also scheduled for Thursday 13th February, 2014, which both officers are scheduled to attend.

Turks and Caicos Islands, February 5th,2014 (DDME) - In its continued effort to build internal capacity and foster national as well as regional partnerships for disaster risk management, the DDME is facilitating Mr. Desmond Lightbourne, Community Preparedness Manager at the Department of Disaster Management and Emergencies (DDME) to attend a two-weeks (February 10 – 20, 2014) knowledge and skills transfer exchange exercise at the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM), Jamaica.
