Roseau , Dominica, June 7, 2010 (Office of Disaster Management) - The Commonwealth of Dominica is observing HAZARD WEEK from June 7th to 11th 2010; The programme of activities for the week includes a radio address by the Honourable Minister Charles Savarin, Minister for National Security, Immigration and Labour and under whose portfolio the Office of Disaster Management falls; Various talk shows will be held during the week both on radio and television where various agencies and institutions from the Public, and private sector and the NGO's and civil society will take part.
The cooperate sector is on board and during the week jingles and other PSA will be carried emphazising the role of the cooporate sector and their customers and clients in the disaster management process; One of the hightlights of the week will be a television talk show entitled ‘At All Angles' where disaster management will be viewed from all angles. Other activities include lectures, town hall meetings and school programmes geared at educating and sensitizing the general public in the area of disaster management.
