The National Disaster Management Agency (NaDMA) in Grenada reported feeling tremors from a 5.7 magnitude earthquake, which occurred 88.0 km east of Carupano, Venezuela and 105.0 km west of San Fernando, Trinidad and Tobago this morning. The NaDMA in Grenada also confirmed that there were no reports of any damage but will continue to monitor the situation. Please click here for further details.
HIGHLIGHTS on Impacts in Haiti (ONLY) as at Monday 5th October 2015:
- 4 temporary shelters closed in the north-west and Nippes
- 110 mattresses, 100 hygiene kits, 50 sheets and 250 food kits were distributed to evacuees in Port-de-Paix from the Civil Protection Directorate contingency stock
- About 900 families in the areas of Artibonite, Nippes, North-West and South affected and 1 killed in Petit-Trou de Nippes
- 332 families from Gonaives, Anse-Rouge and Gors Morne were affected in Upper Artibonite

Several Participating States in the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) system have been placed under immediate drought watch or warning for 2016. The drought situation remains a major concern for many countries due to the below-normal rainfall recorded during the previous dry and wet seasons, which resulted in a number of countries experiencing water shortages in 2015.

Message: Bahamas requires no regional assistance following the passage of Tropical Storm Kate. CDEMA response teams have been stood down.
THE SITUATION:
Tropical Storm Kate, the eleventh named storm of the Atlantic Hurricane had a projected path to impact Central and Northern Bahamas. As a result, on November 9th 2015, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) in collaboration with the Bahamas Department of Meteorology issued tropical storm warnings for Central Bahamas and Northwestern Bahamas.
