Message: A 6.2 magnitude earthquake jolted Trinidad and Tobago and was felt in Grenada on Tuesday December 06, 2016.
Situation:
According to the University of the West Indies (UWI) Seismic Research Centre (SRC) the 6.2 magnitude earthquake occurred at 5:42PM (Local Time) at a depth of 29KM. The earthquake was located Latitude 11.04N and Longitude 60.70W at 15.0 km SSE of Scarborough Trinidad and Tobago. The following aftershocks were also recorded within the same vicinity:

Message: The islands of The Bahamas and Haiti suffered severe impact from the passage of Hurricane Matthew, the 5th named Hurricane of the 2016 Atlantic Hurricane season. As a result, the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) through the Regional Response Mechanism (RRM) facilitated the coordination and deployment of regional specialized response teams to provide operational support and damage/needs assessments in the most affected areas in Haiti and The Bahamas. The Caribbean Community will also make targeted relief interventions in the affected State of Haiti.

Message: The islands of The Bahamas and Haiti suffered severe impact from the passage of Hurricane Matthew, the 5th named Hurricane of the 2016 Atlantic Hurricane season. As a result, the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) through the Regional Response Mechanism (RRM) facilitated the coordination and deployment of four (4) regional specialized response teams to provide operational support and damage/needs assessments in the most affected areas in Haiti and The Bahamas. To this end, a CARICOM Operational Support Team (COST) was deployed to Haiti and 3 Rapid Needs Assessment Teams (RNATs) were deployed to The Bahamas. The RNAT teams were re-deployed on Thursday October 14, 2016.

Message: A tropical disturbance with heavy showers and thundershowers is producing severe weather conditions over the Central-Eastern Caribbean islands since Monday November 28th 2016. The islands of Barbados, Dominica and Saint Lucia have experienced some flooding while Saint Vincent and the Grenadines has experienced flooding and landslides.

Message: Hurricane Matthew, a powerful Category 4 Hurricane which impacted the Bahamas during 4th - 6th October, 2016, has moved out of the North-Western Bahamas. The Government of The Bahamas has discontinued the Hurricane Warning for all parts of the country. The CIMH in its analysis of the system has forecast that Matthew is to become a post-tropical system as it moves to temperate latitudes.
