Bridgetown, Barbados July 23rd, 2019 (CDEMA) – Twenty-five (25) representatives from across CDEMA’s 18 Participating States are benefiting from a Regional Tsunami Technical Training Workshop being held in Barbados from July 23 to 26, 2019. The workshop is an activity of a project where Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, St. Vincent and the Grenadines and Trinidad and Tobago are direct beneficiaries. However, all 18 member countries of CDEMA stand to benefit from the project’s outcome of an enhanced Regional Tsunami Hazard Plan.

Bridgetown, Barbados, July 12th, 2019 (CDEMA): The Regional Operational Preparedness and Response Exercise entitled SYNERGY, commenced yesterday hosted by the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) in association with CARICOM and Global Affairs Canada. Participants from national, regional and international agencies came together for the simulation exercise designed to test the Regional Coordination Mechanism in response to emergency events that can impact CDEMA’s 18 Participating States.

Bridgetown, Barbados, July 9th, 2019 (CDEMA) – Representatives from participating states of the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) and staff of the CDEMA Coordinating Unit are benefiting from an Information Management & Assessment Workshop being held in Barbados, July 8-10, 2019. The workshop, which is being implemented under the project “Strengthen integrated and cohesive preparedness capacity at a regional, national and community level in the Caribbean”, is being facilitated by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UN OCHA).
