Cabaret, Haiti, October 23, 2012 – (CDEMA) - A week long Community Emergency Response Team training got underway today in Cabaret, Haiti with great enthusiasm. The thirty (30) participants present represent five zones of the community and will be assigned to teams of 6 according to their zones. It is expected that at the end of training the individuals will work together in their team to respond to incidents in their zones.

Bridgetown, Barbados, October 16, 2012 (CDEMA) - The Official Launch of the CDM Conference will be held at the ODPEM Headquarters on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. The Honourable Noel Arscott M.P., Minister of Local Government and Community Development and Chairman of the CDEMA Council of Ministers, Mr. Ronald Jackson, Director General of the ODPEM and Mr. Jeremy Collymore, Executive Director of CDEMA will be among the main speakers at the event. The occasion will feature the unveiling of the CDM 7 logo.

Bridgetown, Barbados, October 10, 2012 (CDEMA) - The Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) Coordinating Unit (CU), with the support of the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID), Aid from the UK, the Canadian Agency for International Development and the Government of Italy, will hold a Regional Consultation on the Refined Model Comprehensive Disaster Management Legislation, Regulations and Adaptation Guide from October 15th – 16th, 2012 in Roseau, Dominica.
