Bridgetown, Barbados, September 24, 2014 (CDEMA) – The Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) continues to strengthen its Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) systems for disaster risk reduction projects and programmes in the region. Recognizing the important role of technology in supporting robust M&E systems, the agency has developed a computerized information tool for capturing and analyzing performance data of the regional Comprehensive Disaster Management (CDM) Strategy 2014-2024.

Bridgetown, Barbados, Monday, September 16, 2014 (CDEMA) - On September 16th, 2014, the Canadian Department of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Development (DFATD), the Canadian Red Cross, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) met at the Barbados Red Cross Society to review the key results, achievements and lessons of a 3-year community-based disaster risk reduction project (2011-2014) entitled ‘Caribbean Community Resilience to Disaster Risk’.

Trincity, Tacrigua, September 15, 2014 (ODPM, CDEMA) - Representatives from a wide cross section of government, key stakeholder agencies, civil society and the private sector in Trinidad and Tobago will participate in a two day workshop on developing a national cross-sectoral climate smart comprehensive disaster management (CDM) work programme. The Workshop which commences on 15^th September, 2014 at Trinidad and Tobago Bureau of Standards is being hosted by the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Management (ODPM) in collaboration with the Caribbean Disaster and Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA) to implement Phase II of the Mainstreaming Climate Change and Disaster Management Project (CCDM-II).
