Montserrat, August 7th, 2020 (CDEMA) - Yellow Hill Road, Montserrat - Montserrat has received a shipment of humanitarian supplies to support the island's national response to the COVID-19 pandemic on Friday, August 7th, 2020 at a handover ceremony at Port Little Bay.
The large consignment of medical devices and supplies was made possible through the Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency (CDEMA)-Coordinated Integrated Regional Logistics Hub (IRLH), the World Health Organization (WHO), Jack Ma and the United Arab Emirates. This timely donation was a result of a commitment made by the WHO, Jack Ma, the Honourable Prime Minister of Barbados Mia Amor Mottley, Q.C., M.P., and the Director-General of the WHO Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus to support the provision of aid supplies to CARICOM.

BRADES, Montserrat, January 28, 2013 – The Disaster Management Coordination Agency (DMCA) has announced that a national emergency exercise is being planned for the first quarter of this year.
Director Billy Darroux said the Government of Montserrat has initiated the exercise to test the response of all national emergency agencies including the police and fire services, health centres and the MVO; as well as non-governmental agencies, which provide support before and during disasters.

BRADES, Montserrat (February 11, 2010) – Dr. Paul Cole, Director of the Montserrat Volcano Observatory, reported that at 12:35pm 11th February 2010, a series of pyroclastic flows occurred on the northern flanks of the Soufriere Hills Volcano. The MVO Director said the flows were probably caused by a partial dome collapse.
