According to the National Hurricane Center (NHC) in Miami, Florida, as of 5:00 PM (AST) on September 10, 2018, the center of Hurricane Isaac was located near latitude 14.4 North, longitude 45.0 West. On the forecast track, Isaac is expected to move across the Lesser Antilles and into the eastern Caribbean Sea on Thursday. Maximum sustained winds remain near 75 mph (120 km/h) with higher gusts.
Some strengthening is expected over the next day or two, with some weakening to begin by the middle of the week as Isaac approaches the Lesser Antilles.
Hurricane-force winds extend outward up to 10 miles (20 km) from the center and tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 45 miles (75 km).
